Welcome: Whether you are visiting us for the first time or have been active with us for many years, we pray for God’s abundant blessings and grace to overflow in your Life! At Lindsay United MC, we strive to provide a place where all people, from all walks of life are welcomed and embraced through loving hospitality. We look forward to having you worship with us and hope your experience will motivate you to become part of our Christ Centered Community. We offer a few helpful hints to make your visit a wonderful experience.
If it’s your first time, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the worship start time which is 10:55. That will give you enough time to park and find a seat before the service begins. We recommend coming to the front/main doors which face south.
You will find ample guest and handicap parking spaces along the south and west sides of the church. You will find additional spaces in the parking lot across the street directly to the south of the church.
Lindsay United MC welcomes everyone just as they are. Some people dress up and others dress very casually. We encourage you to come the way that you feel most comfortable.
We worship in-person or from the comfort of your home (via Facebook and YouTube using the links on our website). Masks wearing is at the option of each person.
As you enter the main doors, you will be greeted by one of our members. They are there to make sure you feel at home, that your questions are answered and you can easily find your way around the building.
Located on the west end of the Narthex, just off the main entrance. The gathering space as some comfortable chairs, offers coffee, water and an assortment of pastries or cookies. Please help yourself, as we want you to feel at home.
We currently offer one worship experience each week on Sunday mornings at 10:55 AM in the sanctuary. We Participate in a blended style of worship mixing both traditional practices as well as contemporary form and music. You can expect inspiring music, the reading of Holy Scripture and a passionate message (biblically based) about God’s love and hope for all people.
Our service also includes the sacrament of Holy Communion on a weekly basis. In the United Methodist Church, we believe that the Lord’s table is open to all persons seeking to establish, revive or grow in their faith through Jesus Christ. You will find directions on the method in the bulletin. It is your option to participate.
As part of the worship service we take up an offering by passing the plate. We also invite giving via a secured on-line gateway. If you are a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives. This is part of our living out the teachings on Extravagant Generosity.
About 1/3 of time into the service, we will invite all the children to come forward for a message from the Pastor. They then go with a qualified teacher for a lesson and return prior to Holy Communion.
As a guest, we hope that you will feel comfortable enough to fill out a registration form during worship, which will only be used to help us stay in communication with you and let you know about all of the exciting things happening at Lindsay UMC throughout the year.
